ضربت اول مرة سنة 729 هـ /1327م في عهد السلطان اورخان وكانت النقود العثمانية تحمل على وجهها الأول كلمة الشهادة وعلى الوجه الثاني اسم الأمير باللغة الدارجة “اورخان ” وهي عبارة يقصد بها الدعاء له ” خلد الله ملكه” دون الإشارة الى الاب ولا زمان الضرب ومكانه مما لدى الى ازدهار الحركة التجارية.

It was first minted in 729 AH / 1327 AD during the reign of Sultan Orhan. The Ottoman coins bore the Shahada on the first side and the name of the prince in the colloquial language, “Orhan,” on the second side. This phrase was intended as a prayer for him, “May God perpetuate his kingdom,” without any reference to the father, the time, or the place of minting, which led to the flourishing of trade
