This dirham was minted during the reign of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1391-1425 AH / 1971-2004 AD).

It was issued to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces.

The obverse features the 1 dirham note, surrounded by the United Arab Emirates in Arabic and English. It is rarely circulated.

Reverse: The Armed Forces logo is in the center. In the margin, the Armed Forces is written at the top, the 25th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces is written at the bottom, and 2001 is between them.
