This dirham was minted during the reign of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1391-1425 AH / 1971-2004 AD).

Issued to commemorate 35 years of excellence by the National Bank of Abu Dhabi in 1968.

The obverse features the 1 dirham note, surrounded by the words “United Arab Emirates” in Arabic and English. It is rarely circulated.

Reverse: The bank building is in the center, with the words “1968-2003” written around it. In the margin, it says “National Bank of Abu Dhabi / 35 Years of Excellence” in Arabic and English.
