This coin was minted during the reign of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, who ruled from 2004 to 2022.

It was issued to commemorate the Year of Zayed.

The obverse features the 1 dirham in the center, surrounded by the words “United Arab Emirates” in Arabic and English. It is in limited circulation.

Reverse: A model of Sheikh Zayed’s face, with “Year of Zayed” written above and below it in Arabic and English. On both sides, it reads “1918-2018.”
