Obverse: Portrait of King Farouk I with the inscription “Farouk I, King of Egypt” around him.

Reverse: The inscription “5 Milliemes” in the center, above it “Kingdom,” on either side the date of issue (1362 AH – 1943 AD), and “Egyptian” at the bottom.

Composition: Bronze, copper, and zinc.
