This coin was minted during the presidency of Anwar Sadat, who ruled from 1970 to 1981. It was issued to commemorate the first anniversary of the October War. Obverse: In the center is written “10 Piastres” and above it, “The Arab Republic of Egypt.” Below it is the date of issue: 1394 AH / 1974 AD. Reverse: It features a picture of a soldier and below it, “10 Ramadan 1393 AH – 6 October 1973 AD.” Composition: Copper and Nickel Weight: 6 grams Diameter: 27 mm Thickness: 1.4 mm |
