The commemorative coin was issued in 2012 during the reign of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who ruled the Sultanate of Oman from 1970 to 2020 (1390-1441 AH). Commemorative Issue Obverse: The word “Muscat” is inscribed in geometric patterns in the center, above which is a geometric drawing of a coffee pot from which the year of issue, 2012, is poured. Below, in both Arabic and English, is written “Muscat, Capital of Arab Tourism 2012.” Reverse: In the middle is the emblem of the Sultanate of Oman, above and below it is written “Sultanate of Oman” in both Arabic and English. On its sides is written “One Rial” in both Arabic and English. In the margin is written “Central Bank of Oman” in both Arabic and English. |
