The commemorative coin was issued in 2008 during the reign of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who ruled the Sultanate of Oman from 1970 to 2020 (1390-1441 AH). Commemorative Coin Obverse: In the center is the emblem of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with the inscription “(Twenty-Ninth Session of the Supreme Council)” and below that, “(Sultanate of Oman – Muscat 1430 AH – 2008 AD)” Reverse: In the middle is the emblem of the Sultanate of Oman, above and below it is written “Sultanate of Oman” in both Arabic and English. On its sides is written “One Rial” in both Arabic and English. In the margin is written “Central Bank of Oman” in both Arabic and English. |
