The banknote was issued to protect Transnistria’s financial system after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Used Soviet and Russian banknotes were purchased, and stamps bearing Suvorov’s image and the denomination were printed on them.

Obverse:  Portrait of General Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, who ruled from 1730 to 1800.

Reverse: The Parliament Building (Supreme Soviet) in Tiraspol
