The coin was minted during the rule of Leonid Brezhnev, General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, who governed from 1964 to 1982. Obverse: The Soviet state emblem, the hammer and sickle, within a globe surrounded by ears of wheat. On either side are the inscriptions 1917-1967, representing the fifty years since the revolution. Below, in Russian, is written “Fifty Years of Soviet Rule.” Reverse: 20 Konik at the top, and a picture of ships at the bottom.
