The coin was minted during the reign of Ali Pasha Bey II (r. 1882–1902), the Bey who oversaw the beginning of French rule after the signing of the Treaty of Bardo in 1881. (Under French supervision)

Obverse: Inscribed in the center: “During the reign of the Bey of Tunis / 10 centimes / Year 1308 AH.” On the right side is an olive branch, and on the left, a palm frond.

Reverse: In the center: “10 centimes.” Above: “Tunisia” in English. Below: Year of issue: 1892.
