The currency was issued during the presidency of Saddam Hussein, who ruled from 1979 to 2003. Obverse: Purple on a pink background with a blue print. A portrait of Saddam Hussein is on the right. The inscription is “Central Bank of Iraq” at the top, “Two Hundred and Fifty Dinars” in the center, and the date of issue (1422 AH – 2002 AD) at the bottom. Reverse: In the center (the Dome of the Rock in the Old City of Jerusalem). In English, it says (at the top, Central Bank of Iraq) and at the bottom (two hundred and fifty dinars). Size: 68 x 158 mm |
