The currency was issued during the presidency of Fuad Masoum, who governed from 2014 to 2018.

Obverse: Blue and green on a multicolored background. / In the center is the Dukan Dam (a concrete arch dam in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, built between 1954 and 1959). / The face value is written in the four corners. / Also written at the top are “Central Bank of Iraq” and on the right are “Five Hundred Dinars”.

Reverse: In the center: The winged bull (Sargon II Complex, Khorsabad). Banknote denominations are in the upper right and lower left corners. / Written in Kurdish: (At the top: Central Bank of Iraq) and at the bottom: (Five Hundred Dinars)
