This coin was minted during the presidency of Shukri al-Quwatli, who ruled from 1948 to 1949. Obverse: The emblem of the Syrian state (a three-starred falcon on a shield holding a scroll inscribed with “The Syrian Arab Republic” in Arabic script. Below it is the date of issue, 1367 AH/1948 AD). Reverse: In the center is written “10 piastres” surrounded by decorations, and above it is written “The Syrian Republic.” Composition: Copper and nickel.
