الوجه: شعار الدولة السورية (الصقر بثلاثة نجوم على الدرع يحمل لفافة مكتوب عليها “الجمهورية العربية السورية” بالأحرف العربية. الظهر: في الوسط كتب 50 قروشا وحولها زخارف وفي الأسفل تاريخ اصدار العملة سنة 1387 هـ / 1968 م. التركيب: نيكل. الوزن: 5 غرام القطر: 23.4 ملم السمك: 1.5 ملم |

This coin was minted during the Ba’ath Party era, under President Nureddin al-Atlasi, who was also Prime Minister, ruling from 1966 to 1970. Obverse: The emblem of the Syrian state (a three-starred falcon on a shield holding a scroll inscribed with “The Syrian Arab Republic” in Arabic script). Reverse: In the center, the inscription “50 piastres” surrounded by decorative motifs, and below, the date of issue: 1387 AH / 1968 CE. Composition: Nickel.
