The banknote was printed during the rule of President Muammar Gaddafi, who governed from 1969 to 2011.

Obverse: In the center is Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi / Above it is written (The Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya) Directly below it is written (Central Bank of Libya) In the center is written (Size: 65 x 130 mm) and to the right of Gaddafi’s image is written the verse ((ولا تأكلوا أمولكم بينكم بالباطل)

Reverse: Blue on a multicolored background. In the center is the Moulay Muhammad Mosque in Tripoli. / At the top is written (The Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya), directly below it (Central Bank of Libya), and at the bottom it is written (Size: 65 x 130 mm)
