The coin was in circulation during the reign of Sultan Mohammed V, who ruled as Sultan from 1927 to 1957 and as King of Morocco from 1957 to 1961.

Obverse: In the center (the five-pointed star, the emblem of Morocco), above and below it is the words “The Moroccan State” in both Arabic and English.

Reverse: In the center is the word “1 Franc,” surrounded above and below by the words “The Noble Mohammedan Coin” in Arabic. On either side is the year of issue: 1370 AH / 1951 CE.
