The coin was in circulation during the reign of Sultan Mohammed V, who ruled as Sultan from 1927 to 1957 and as King of Morocco from 1957 to 1961. During this period, Morocco was still under French protectorate. Obverse: In the center is the five-pointed star, the emblem of Morocco. Below it is written in English and Arabic, “Fifty Cents.” Above, the date of issue is written in Arabic and French: 1944 AD / 1363 AH. Reverse: The main gate of the Kasbah of the Udayas, Rabat, is depicted in the center. The value is inscribed at the four corners (50 cm). At the top and bottom, the inscription is written in English and Arabic: (Sharifian Empire/Protectorate of the French Republic). Dimensions: 30 x 40 mm |
