| تم سك العملة في زمن الرئيس حسن شيخ محمود الذي حكم من مرتان، الأولى من 2012 إلى 2017م، والثانية بدأت في 2022 وما زال في منصبه. يُعد أول رئيس صومالي يُعاد انتخابه لفترة ثانية.

The currency was minted during the presidency of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who served two terms, the first from 2012 to 2017, and the second beginning in 2022, during which he remains in office. He is the first Somali president to be re-elected for a second term. Obverse: In the center is the Moroccan emblem, and on either side is the year the currency was issued, 2013 AD. At the top is written “25 shillings” in English. At the bottom is written “Republic of Somalia” in English. Reverse: At the top, inscribed in English (Battle of Banu Kapurin, 1314 AH / year of the battle), a sword planted vertically, symbolizing war and courage, the Scottish flag, and a landscape of a hill representing the battle site.
