This coin was minted during the reign of the Abbasid Caliph Harun al-Rashid, who ruled from 170-193 AH / 786-809 CE.

Obverse: In the center is written: “There is no god but God, alone, without partner.”

Margin: In the name of God, this dirham was struck in Muhammadia in the year one hundred and ninety-one.

Reverse: In the center: “Muhammad, the Messenger of God.”

Margin: “Muhammad, the Messenger of God, whom He sent with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religions, even though the polytheists may dislike it.”
