The Khanate was ruled between 1256 and 1335 by nine great Mongol kings, the first of whom was Hulagu Khan and the last of whom was Abu Said.

Minted during the reign of King Abu Said Bahadur Khan, who ruled for 19 years.
The reverse of the coin bears the names of the Companions of the Prophet, Abu Bakr, Uthman, Umar, and Ali.
