This coin was minted during the reign of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, who ruled from 2004 to 2022.

It was issued to commemorate the naming of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak as “Mother of the Emirates.”

The obverse features the 1 dirham note, surrounded by the words “United Arab Emirates” in Arabic and English. It is rarely circulated.

Reverse: The center features the words “Mother of the Emirates” in a flower-shaped pattern.

At the top and bottom are written in Arabic and English: “Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Emirates – Your honor is a source of pride for us all.”
