صدر في حكم الشيخ احمد بن علي آل ثاني الذي حكم من عام 1960 حتى 1972.. الوجه: في الوسط صورة غزال الرمال العربي، وهو نوع أصيل من صحراء شبه الجزيرة العربية. ويرمز إلى الالتزام بالحفاظ على بيئتها الطبيعية، وكتب اعلاه سنة الإصدار 1969م / 1389 هـ، وفي السفل كتب قطر والبحرين. الظهر: في الوسط كتب 5درهم / واسفله كتب قطر ودبي بالإنجليزي |

The Qatari-Dubai riyal was the official currency in circulation in both Qatar and Dubai from September 18, 1966, to May 19, 1973. The Qatar-Dubai Monetary Board was the center of issue for this currency. Issued during the reign of Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, who ruled from 1960 to 1972. Obverse: In the center is an image of the Arabian sand gazelle, a species native to the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula. It symbolizes the commitment to preserving its natural environment. Above is the year of issue (1966 AD / 1386 AH), and below are Qatar and Bahrain. Reverse: In the center is the 5 dirham note, and below it are Qatar and Dubai in English |
