This coin was minted during the presidency of Anwar Sadat, who ruled from 1970 to 1981.

Obverse: In the center is written “5 piastres” and above it, “Arab Republic of Egypt.” Below is the date of issue: 1397 AH / 1977 AD.

Reverse: It depicts a pharaoh with the inscription “May 15, 1971,” the day of the Corrective Revolution.

Composition: Copper and nickel
