A commemorative one-riyal coin issued in 2010 in silver to mark the 40th National Day. 

The commemorative coin was issued in 2010 during the reign of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who ruled the Sultanate of Oman from 1970 to 2020 (1390-1441 AH).

Commemorative Issue

Obverse: The number 40 is written in the center, followed by “Sultanate of Oman” at the top and “The Glorious 40th National Day” at the bottom.

Reverse: The emblem of the Sultanate of Oman is in the center, above it, and below it, the words “Sultanate of Oman” are written in both Arabic and English. On either side, the phrase “One Rial” is written in both Arabic and English. In the margin, the words “Central Bank of Oman” are written in both Arabic and English.
