A commemorative one-riyal coin issued in 2013 in silver, released to mark the 43rd National Day.

The commemorative coin was issued in 2013 during the reign of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who ruled the Sultanate of Oman from 1970 to 2020 (1390-1441 AH).

Commemorative Coin

Obverse: In the center is a coin minted in the first mint in Oman in 81 AH during the reign of Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan. On the sides is the Sultanate’s emblem. At the top and bottom margins is written in both Arabic and English: “(First Mint in Oman 81 AH)”

Reverse  In the middle is the emblem of the Sultanate of Oman, above and below it is written “Sultanate of Oman” in both Arabic and English. On its sides is written “One Rial” in both Arabic and English. In the margin is written “Central Bank of Oman” in both Arabic and English.
