This banknote was printed during the reign of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who ruled from 1970 to 2020. Obverse: Portrait of Sultan Qaboos bin Said on the left. The emblem of the Sultanate of Oman is at the top center. Above it is written “One Rial,” and below Sultan Qaboos’s signature is the date of issue, 2015. Reverse: Shows flowers; a dagger; white desert butterflies / the logo of the 45th National Day; Sultan Qaboos University in Al Khoudh, Muscat Governorate / At the top, written in English, is the Central Bank of Oman, and at the bottom, on the right, is one rial. |
