This banknote was printed during the reign of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who ruled from 1970 to 2020.

Obverse: On the right appears the emblem of the Sultanate of Oman / At the top center is written the Omani Currency Board / Below it is written a quarter of an Omani rial / It is signed by Mohammed Mahmoud Murad, Chairman of the Currency Board / At the top right and left is written ¼.

Reverse:  It features Islamic inscriptions, with Al Jalali Fort in Muscat in the center. Below, the words “Oman Currency Board” are written in English. Above, on the right and left sides, is written ¼
