The currency was issued during the reign of King Faisal I, who ruled from 1921 to 1933.

Obverse: King Faisal I on the right / At the top, the words “Republic of Iraq” are written, below them “Quarter Dinar,” and at the bottom center, the date of issue, 1931. / The number ¼ is written on all four sides.

Reverse: At the top, the words “Government of Iraq” are written in English / In the center, the words “One Hundred Dinars” are written in English / Below that, the date of issue, 1931.
