Five Iraqi dinars, 1947 AD – National Bank of Iraq

This banknote was printed during the reign of the young King Faisal II (Regent Abdul-Ilah), who ruled from 1939 to 1953 (under regency) and effectively ruled after reaching the age of majority from 1953 to 1958.

Obverse: Red on a multicolored background. King Faisal as a teenager is on the right. In the center is written “One Dinar.” Above is written “National Bank of Iraq.”

Reverse: Red print / Hammurabi receives the laws in the center. / At the top: (National Bank of Iraq) / At the bottom: (One Dinar) in English
