The currency was issued during the presidency of Saddam Hussein, who ruled from 1979 to 2003. Obverse: Purple on a blue background, violet and multicolored print / On the right is a picture of Abu Ali Hassan Ibn al-Haytham / In front of the picture is written the date of issue of the currency (1402 AH / 1982 AD) / At the top is written (Central Bank of Iraq) and in the center is written (Ten Dinars) Reverse: Purple on blue, violet, and multicolored print / In the center: The minaret of the Great Mosque of al-Nuri, Mosul, Iraq / And the words “Central Bank of Iraq” in English at the top and “Ten Dinars” at the bottom Size: 78 x 170 mm |
