25 Iraqi dinars, 1986 AD

The currency was issued during the presidency of Saddam Hussein, who ruled from 1979 to 2003.

 Obverse: Brown, green, and black on a blue background with a multicolored print. A portrait of Saddam Hussein in military uniform is on the right; below it is the date of issue (1406 AH / 1986 AD). A scene from the Battle of Qadisiyah is in the center. At the top is written “Central Bank of Iraq,” and at the bottom, “Twenty-five dinars.”

Reverse:  Brown and green on a multicolored background / On the left side, the city gate; / Below it, an image of a lion; / In the center, the Martyr’s Monument (also known as the Martyrs’ Monument) in Baghdad / With palm fronds hanging from above. / In English, it says (At the top, the Central Bank of Iraq) and below (Twenty-five dinars).
