This currency was printed during the presidency of Hafez al-Assad, who ruled from 1971 to 2000. Obverse: Ancient ruins of Palmyra in the center, and a statue of Queen Zenobia on the right. Above it is written “Central Bank of Syria,” below it “One Hundred Syrian Pounds,” and in the lower left is the date of issue (1411 AH / 1990 AD). Reverse: Grain silos in Latakia, and above it is written in English “Central Bank of Syria.” And below (one hundred Syrian pounds). Dimensions: 80 x 167 mm |
