The banknote was issued during the tenure of President Pratibha Patil (2007–2012). Obverse: Pale brownish-violet color on a multicolored reddish-orange background. Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on the right, a statue of three tigers at the bottom left, and the Reserve Bank seal at the bottom right. Reverse: Pale brownish-violet color on a multicolored reddish-orange background. Heads of a rhinoceros and an elephant behind a tiger in the center-left. “Ten Rupees” inscription in India’s official languages (excluding Hindi and English). Dimensions: Approximately 137 × 63 mm. |
